Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When are you available?
A: Sessions are usually scheduled after school, in evenings and on weekends. Please contact us to check our availability and schedule your session.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in East Cobb.
Q: Where do you tutor?
A: We may meet at the library or any other mutually convenient location or online.
Q: Will you come to my home?
A: We might come to your home provided it is a 10-minute drive or less from us.
Q: Online vs. in-person session – which one is better?
A: An online session is as effective and convenient as an in-person one. You work with us from the convenience of your home computer. We communicate and collaborate in a way that emulates in-person sessions. You will be able to save all your work as a PDF file for future reference. Group sessions are also possible online - you may share the session with your friend who might be located in another city/state. Usually, we meet with students who reside in East Cobb in person while students located farther away prefer online sessions.
Q: I am interested in an online session. What equipment/software do I need and how do I set it up?
A: You need a laptop or a desktop computer and an internet connection. The tablet might be the best option although it is not necessary. You will not need to install any special software. Please contact us – we will guide you in setting it up.
Q: What is your hourly rate?
A: Please contact us about the hourly rate.
Q: What type of payments do you accept?
A: We accept personal checks, cash, Zelle, and Venmo payments.
Q: Have you worked with students that have special needs?
A: We have extensive experience working with students of all abilities.
Q: Do you work with college students?
A: Yes, we tutor college students – please see the list of college subjects we tutor. Please note that we teach not only introductory classes but also advanced ones.
Q: Do you work with small groups?
A: Although most of the tutoring we provide is one-on-one instruction, we can work with small groups (up to 3 students) provided they are all in the same class.
Q: How long are your tutoring sessions? How often do you meet with your students?
A: Tutoring sessions may take one, one and a half, or two hours – depending on specific needs. We may meet one or more times a week depending on your situation. We may recommend certain programs of study but it is up to you to decide how long and how often you work with us. You may set up regular weekly sessions or meet with us occasionally on an as-needed basis (although the former way of scheduling is more effective).
Q: Do you require contracts or registration fees?
A: No.
Q: Do you require assessment tests?
A: No. If needed, we assess student’s knowledge during our first session. Students often know their weak areas and determine what they need to work on.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Your appointment time has been reserved especially for you. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call us before 8 pm the day before the day of your scheduled tutoring session.
